  • i actually will not browse at all if Internet Explorer is the only tool available. Firefox rocks my socks!
  • You seem to be a big Firefox fan. What makes netscape style plug-ins and javascript any different than IE's ActiveX controls and ActiveScript?
  • Well, for one thing ActiveX is based on the COM model -- meaning it's literally a full application running within another. This means it has the full power to do anything the user running the browser can do (usually an administrator).

Secondly, ActiveX takes people by suprise and often installs with people not even noticing. Firefox extensions are hardly ever installed without a user's knowledge -- if ever.

Finally, just look at the facts. How many people do you know who have ruined Windows operating systems because of Firefox plugins? Now compare that number to how many have had their systems toasted by ActiveX and IE. You'll find that the numbers are quite different.
