As a father who puts equal time into his children, maybe it explains why my wife in fact does not want diamonds or other such frivolties.

And here I thought our Alien Masters had installed a genetic instinct in our forebears to gather (or get) rare tradeable commodities.

The real question is are we out from under their yolk, and this behaviour just a throwback to a lost system of extraterrestrial servitude? Or was the whole mechanism meant to produce babies in exchange for diamonds, silver, gold and platinum?

I guess that explains the shortage of nookie during my life! I *hate* buying useless shit! ;-) Luckily my wife does not seem to be overly concerned but this particular aspect of my personality....

Oh I get it. Never thought about it that way. This way you could buy an expensive men's watch for her, then when she complains about it not being a women's watch you can hastily take it back and wear it yourself. Actually, nevermind....that won't get you laid. And it doesn't make sense either.
