I know here at my company, the idea that RIM may lose this patent case has some of our managerial types scared rigid. We probably have over 2k people who carry some form of a Blackberry, and most of them rely quite heavily upon them. I personally use my 7290 a lot as a wireless modem hooked up via an USB cable to my laptop in the areas that I cannot get a wireless signal, but can get a decent phone signal. Losing RIM (I guess they will just license the tech if they have to) would be a major headache for us.

I agree; there are just too many people out there that rely on the devices. I mean, they're part of many an infrastructure, and it's not the sort of thing you can change overnight.

I see either some court reversals after the severity of the problem is revealed, or a payout to end it once and for all. There's just too much at steak.
