Watching this whole thing unravel from up here in Canada, I would have to say that I'm just as upset! I'm keeping on top of things, and I hope for your sake (and indirectly - mine) things change once all the poles close in the west.

Well, McCain seems to have a huge lead, but why are you writing off Obama? He's not in the lead, but if my calculations are correct, the race is not nearly over and he's been gaining. If the media would just report news instead of telling people what they believe, we'd be in better shape going forward.

quite. I don't know how to feel about my state's results. Apparently we hate Clinton with a purple passion, but we love the hardcore fundamentalists.
Oh well.

Obama is not out of the race just yet. Given who we had on the ballet the last two elections, you can't really say we are doing any worse. It's funny, we hate the system because our leaders are douche bags, yet we can casting our votes for douche bags. Maybe it's like fat people who hate themselves for being fat, and eat because they hate themeselves. It brings up the point of, is pushing the Reps out of office the only change we want, or is it how politics is run that we want to change?

Paul and Kucinich are the nut jobs. As for Obama, if he actually follows up on what he's been talking about, he'll be more ineffective than Carter was. "Change" is a joke, the democrats and republicans have no interest in change, the current system works quite well for them. Voters still vote incumbents in at alarming rates, they don't want change either.
If you want some sort of change, stop voting for people who exist at the edges of their parties. McCain, at least, seems to be fine with working with democrats. Obama just doesn't have enough history to know what he would do (but then, I still think he'd end up being a joke despite his best intentions).
