    Never gonna happen. There's no way that Steve Jobs will ever willfully leave or hand over the reigns of Apple to anyone...at least not any time soon.

    I follow Apple news quite closely and I have never seen one reference to Jobs leaving soon. Where have you seen this?

    Umm, Daniel, Methinks you've run yourself aground on the Isle of Mac, beware the natives are nasty. Notice the almost Pavlovian reaction to any negative (or non-conformist) viewpoint of the Mac landscape. Best just to back up and go searching for more fertile ground, the natives here have scorched the earth :)

    Apple has far too much brand equity for anyone in their right mind to surrender it's name or identity. Google as well, though without the lengthy history Apple has. Were Apple to ever be "bought out" the owner wouldn't change the name unless they were retarded... and i don't know of any retarded people with tens of billions of dollars.
