Open OWA and try to send an email - hit send and Boom closes the browser - nice work again MS!

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

Its a known issue, and there is a hotfix available for it:

http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=...

Ask your admin to install it on the Exchange Server.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

Yes, there are definitely some issues... :(

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

I have a problem with IE7.0 and OWA on Ex 2003. I cannot connect at all. If I revert to IE6, I get instant connection. I think Microsoft forgot to Test this feature or it is a feature they want to eliminate due to compatibility or security.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

I had this problem too at first. Finally I went into the options of OWA, and under Security, clicked on the button to Reinstall MIME control ...

That took care of it.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

Hrm, it didn't crap out on us here. Wonder if it's based on what SP/patch level your Exchange box is at. I'm sure sure if we're patched up or not.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn’t Work With Exchange 2003 OWA?

I haven't touched IE7 as of yet, but I know that a few guys in my department have it installed. I'll have 'em test it against OWA in our environment. I would assume that they've already tried the IE7/OWA combo, but can't guarantee it. I do know that if they had issues, I would've heard about it. Possibly some "weird" settings in your OWA environment?

On a side note, have you considered implementing RPC-over-HTTPS for Exchange? It allows one to use the full Outlook client from anywhere, assuming HTTPS is open on the front-end server. We implemented this and everyone loves it, as OWA is a POS. =)

Jeremy L.
