I once worked on Perkin Elmer projection aligners (semi-conductor equipment used in the photolithography process) that had a part called an "articulated waffle-tree" or maybe it was "articulated wiffle-tree". My memory isn't so great when recalling that far back! Regardless, it is mildly amusing.
One of my colleagues once told a clueless production supervisor that the implanter would be down for another 12 hours because "they were waiting on the dilithium crystals recharging." The supervisor went to a production meeting and spouted this line out with enthusiasm, only to find a room of people sniggering and chuckling themselves to death! Obviously not a trekkie!!!
