dmiessler.com | grep understanding: Chief NASA Climate Scientist Now a Man-Made Global Warming Skeptic

I've always been open to the fact that global warming was largely a natural phenomenon. However, I'm afraid that this is the kind of info that will halt environmental advancements which still needs to be pushed ahead at full steam.

I agree, even if global warming is not man made, we still need to make the proper environmental changes anyways. Our actions are not just causing the heating of our planet, but mass extinction, the poisoning of our waterways, acid rain, etc.

One possible reason why the NASA guy would be against the "man-made global warming theory" is because of his particular allegiance to NASA.

The amount of rocket fuel and propellant contaminating our air in each and every launch should be the equivalent of several thousand airplane flights.

If he were to argue that HIS INDUSTRY were a contributing factor in the destruction of the biosphere and natural habitats, then he would arguing for the suspension of the NASA program, at least until it can provide a more enviromentally feasible means for achieving orbit.

Since he is not doind that, he is protecting NASA, whether inadvertantly or intentionally.

We'll see. It's politics of one sort or another, possibly corporate.
